Job description

Our client is seeking an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate with 2โ€“5 years of experience to join its dynamic national Intellectual Property practice.

This opportunity is well suited for an attorney with experience in IP litigation or a strong interest in developing a sophisticated practice involving patent, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property disputes.

An undergraduate or advanced degree in a technical or scientific discipline is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across all stages of complex intellectual property litigation, including:

  • Conducting early case assessments and investigations.
  • Analyzing accused products, technologies, and prior art.
  • Drafting infringement and invalidity claim charts and assisting with litigation contentions.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and related correspondence.
  • Participating in meet-and-confers with opposing counsel.
  • Preparing and responding to written discovery.
  • Managing complex discovery matters and discovery negotiations.
  • Working with e-discovery platforms, tools, and vendors.
  • Preparing claim construction briefs and hearing materials.
  • Working with technical and industry experts on reports and testimony.
  • Preparing deposition outlines, exhibits, and related materials.
  • Conducting legal and technical research and analysis.
  • Collaborating with attorneys, experts, clients, and litigation support professionals throughout the life cycle of a matter.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2โ€“5 years of legal experience, preferably involving intellectual property litigation.
  • Experience with patent, trademark, trade secret, or other IP disputes, or a strong interest in developing expertise in these areas.
  • A strong academic record.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A technical or scientific undergraduate or advanced degree is preferred but not required.

Compensation

$175,000โ€“$280,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
