Job description

Business Planning and Intelligence Manager Description

We are seeking a Business Planning and Intelligence Manager to drive business performance through strategic planning, financial analysis, business intelligence, performance management, and data-driven decision-making. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop business plans, monitor key performance indicators, identify growth opportunities, and deliver executive-level insights that shape strategic priorities. The ideal candidate will combine strong business acumen with hands-on business intelligence expertise. Using Power BI, SQL, and advanced analytics, this individual will transform complex financial and operational data into scalable reporting solutions, meaningful insights, and actionable business recommendations while supporting forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking across key strategic initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and self-service business intelligence solutions using Power BI.
  • Define, standardize, and monitor business metrics aligned with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into data models, reporting frameworks, and scalable BI solutions.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance to identify risks, opportunities, trends, and growth drivers.
  • Develop business cases, scenario models, and investment analyses to support strategic decisions.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Data Engineering teams to align priorities and execution.
  • Conduct trend analysis, forecasting, root-cause analysis, and performance diagnostics to generate actionable recommendations.
  • Validate data quality and ensure consistency, accuracy, and governance across reporting solutions.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations and communicate complex insights clearly to senior leadership.
  • Improve reporting processes through automation, data integration, and scalable analytical solutions.
  • Support annual operating plans, long-term strategic planning, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Manage multiple strategic initiatives while ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in business planning, business intelligence, strategy, business analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in performance management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, visualization, and report optimization.
  • Strong SQL skills, with experience extracting, integrating, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and self-service BI capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements and complex data into clear recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting executive leadership, annual operating plans, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, cloud analytics platforms, data warehouses, and enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, semantic models, and data-governance principles.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, or scenario planning.
  • Knowledge of Agile project-management methodologies.

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
