Job Description
As a family of home builders and home service companies, Cavco Industries is a leading builder of Manufactured Homes, Modular Homes, Park Model RVs, Commercial Buildings and Vacation Cabins in the United States. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Cavco has built a reputation for quality, value and service since it was founded in 1965. We are currently seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team.
The ideal candidate advises and assists in the implementation and management of safety plans for the operations. Ensures that the safety plan reflects company policy and provides and complies with the prevailing safety requirements. Responsible for conducting training programs that instruct employees how to properly handle tools of the trade. The ideal candidate is responsible for communicating with all employees and management on a regular basis regarding training, company updates, policy updates, general training process's, and additional duties as requested. PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
• Audits and inspects the site to detect and correct safety hazards
• Audits the job accident records and periodically prepares an audit report of these records
• Initiates and conducts accident investigations and prepares job accident reports
• Represents management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers
• Receives, reviews and distributes safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions
• Provides oversight to the new hire safety orientation process and other safety related training
• Conducts risk assessments for upcoming work and provides technical assistance to the safety planning process
• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
• Manage and provide training records as needed such as attendance, completed vs. outstanding items, etc.
• Circulate communications promoting training events and opportunities
• Participate in creating and distributing training materials
• Two more years' experience in a similar training environment
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage a wide variety of tasks
• Demonstrates the ability to solve problems and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Communicates effectively in visual, oral and written form; uses active listening skills
• Requires the ability to use independent judgment and discretion when identifying and prioritizing needs
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Requires a commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards; and willingness to take initiative
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred but not required
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Must maintain a clean and insurable driving record throughout employment, as defined by company vehicle insurance standards.
