Nationality Requirements
Due to the nature of the programs we support, certain roles may require candidates to meet U.S. nationality requirements and be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
Position Summary
Supervise quality technicians and perform quality inspections within incoming inspection area. Will ensure safety, quality, volume, and cost goals are met. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
Job Description
Coordinates and directs daily activities of the assigned quality technicians to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. Ensures all safety procedures are followed and metrics met. Investigates, troubleshoots and provides solutions to quality issues identified that have been escalated. Provides direct supervision and training for quality team members. Ensures all customer quality requirements are integrated into the QMS and communicates to management when gaps exist in meeting those requirements. Subject matter expert of the machines/equipment and process within the incoming inspection area to ensure accurate and repeatable results are achieved.
Requirements:
  • Significant inspection history/background
  • Understand GD&T and basic metrology equipment (caliper, micrometer, etc.)
  • Liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement for material quality issues
  • Must have organizational and planning skills to coordinate responsibilities
  • Be a self-starter and have the ability to hold others to a similar standard
  • Assist direct reports with First Article Inspections (FAI) for approval of new parts or revision of in-service parts
  • Ability to maintain data as needed for AS9100 accountability
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Quality Assurance or equivalent field. Two plus years of experience in quality or a quality related field in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred:
  • CMM equipment programming & CMM Mgr software experience highly preferred
  • Optical inspection experience/knowledge
  • Pull strength testing experience/knowledge
  • Hardness testing experience/knowledge
  • AS9102 FAI / PPAP process experience/knowledge
  • Root cause analysis experience/knowledge. Preferred with 8D methodology
  • Experience with electronic components, PCBAs, and/or batteries
