Job Title: Software Engineer Location: Austin, TX 78759 (Onsite) Duration: 12 Months Contract Payrate: $66.67 - $81.48 per hour on W2 Job Description: * The client (Aerospace, Defense, Government Business Unit) Customer Centric Solutions Team is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer to work on custom engineering opportunities that enable the sale of standard client Products. * The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with client customers, sales personnel, engineering teams, alliance partners, and contract manufacturers to define, document, design, deploy and sustain client products tailored to meet specific customer requirements for large scale turnkey engineering solutions. * The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding client products and system level design. Job Responsibilities: * In this role you will be working in a cross-functional development team developing custom test systems for prime ADG customers. * The primary responsibility will be developing instrument drivers, test sequences, and applications using LabVIEW and TestStand for a wide range of client and third-party test equipment. * You will also interface with our Systems Architects and Electrical Engineering team to provide strategic design implementation guidance to best enable testability of our systems. * You will be responsible for providing handoff and direct support of software test applications to customer engineering teams, including developing necessary documentation. * Interacting with a wide variety of client customers, client staff, external alliance partners and suppliers in support of designing, implementing and sustaining custom solutions * Defining and implementing system test plans, managing milestones and holding reviews to assure systems meet requirements and readiness for deployment * Verification of the developed tests to ensure compliance with and coverage of requirements * Traveling as needed domestically and abroad in support of project objectives Must Have: * Ability to work on ITAR projects and qualify for DoD Clearances * B. S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering discipline from an accredited institution. * Minimum 5 years of experience developing test software using LabVIEW/TestStand * Experience developing automated test software using PXI chassis and interfacing with some of the following: analog I/O cards, digital I/O cards, DMMs, oscilloscopes, National Instrument's switching and signal routing systems, data acquisition devices, power supplies, RF analyzers, and RF power sensors * Knowledge of hardware interfaces, such as GPIB, USB, Ethernet, and serial communication protocols * Understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++/C#, Python) Preferred Skills: * Understanding of electrical engineering, electronics, and computer architectures. * Experience developing and using system electrical schematics. * Cross-platform development (Windows/Linux) experience. * National Instruments Certification in LabVIEW. * Experience developing in Python, C# or other high-level languages. * Experience providing direct technical support to customers.
