Job description

GreenLife Energy Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Gas Technician to join our team, specifically covering North and Central New Jersey. We specialize in high-efficiency energy solutions and are looking for a professional who can handle complex heating systems and their gas infrastructure in single-family and smaller multi-family residential properties.
Position Type & Compensation
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay Range: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
  • Use of a Company Vehicle and Phone.
  • Benefits: Full-time employees receive comprehensive benefits as defined in the Employee Handbook, including health insurance benefits, 401k plan, paid time off (PTO), and supplemental benefits (subject to eligibility requirements and applicable waiting periods).

Key Responsibilities
Minor/Existing Gas Piping & Repair: Expertise in minor gas piping repair is required. Identify gas pipes and high/low-pressure systems in single-family and smaller multi-family homes, accurately determine gas service ownership for leaks, and perform necessary repairs to ensure system safety and integrity.
Equipment Diagnostics, Maintenance & Repair: Diagnose, maintain, and repair faulty components within both hydronic and steam heating systems.
System Retrofitting & Installation: Perform complex retrofits of steam boiler systems to hydronic systems. Install low-water cut-offs (LWCO) on systems currently lacking them.
Boiler Modernization: Convert standing pilot boilers to modern automatic ignition systems.
Inventory Management: Proactively stock and maintain an inventory of basic parts in your service vehicle to minimize travel time to supply stores and maximize efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license and clean driving record are strictly required for this role.
Service Area: Ability to service residential customers throughout North and Central NJ.
Technical Expertise: Proven experience with steam and hydronic boiler systems is mandatory.
Gas Piping Proficiency: Advanced skills in gas piping repair, pressure identification, and leak detection specifically in residential settings.
Licensure: Any state
licensure or certifications is considered a strong plus.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and gas-related components independently.
