Laboratory Technician | Part time | Hiring NOW !

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join a dynamic laboratory team within a food manufacturing environment. This role involves supporting laboratory testing activities, conducting quality and analytical evaluations, and assisting with microbiological testing. Technicians will be cross-trained to work across multiple lab functions and are expected to follow all safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing to evaluate product characteristics such as structure, composition, and pH.
  • Conduct microbiological testing, including screening for pathogens such as Salmonella.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Support quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Accurately document test results and observations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience with laboratory testing and equipment.
  • Knowledge of microbiology and general lab practices.
  • Familiarity with GMP and quality systems.
  • Experience or coursework in wet chemistry, including titration and plating.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a food or manufacturing laboratory environment.
  • Exposure to analytical chemistry and quality assurance processes.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position within a 24/7 manufacturing facility with a rotating schedule of five days on and two days off. The third shift runs from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Adherence to safety protocols, PPE requirements, and lab standards is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
