Job description
The Regional Master Data Management (MDM) Manager II is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for the governance, quality, integrity, and strategic management of enterprise master data across regional and global business operations. As a recognized subject matter expert, the Regional Master Data Management (MDM) Manager II provides leadership and oversight for master data governance programs, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and compliance across enterprise systems, integrations, and analytical platforms. Working closely with business stakeholders, data stewards, IT teams, and global governance organizations, the Regional Master Data Management (MDM) Manager II drives the development and execution of data standards, quality controls, and governance practices that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and informed business decision-making. The Regional Master Data Management (MDM) Manager II serves as a key escalation point for complex master data challenges, leads cross-functional initiatives to improve data quality and governance maturity, and supports enterprise transformation efforts through trusted and scalable data management practices. Although the Regional Master Data Management (MDM) Manager II does not have direct people management responsibilities, the role provides leadership through expertise, influence, and collaboration. The Regional Master Data Management (MDM) Manager II independently manages complex initiatives, mentors stakeholders on master data management best practices, and drives alignment between regional business requirements and global data strategies to maximize the value of enterprise master data.
Responsibilities
- Lead the regional execution of global master data governance strategies, policies, standards, and operating procedures across assigned data domains.
- Partner with global governance teams to define, implement, and continuously improve master data standards, governance frameworks, and stewardship processes that support business objectives.
- Serve as the regional subject matter expert and authority for master data definitions, ownership models, governance practices, and system-of-record strategies.
- Ensure alignment of global and regional master data definitions, business rules, and governance requirements across enterprise transactional systems, MDM platforms, integrations, and analytical environments.
- Establish, maintain, and govern enterprise data standards, including mandatory attributes, naming conventions, reference data usage, validation criteria, deduplication rules, survivorship logic, and field-level quality controls.
- Lead the identification, analysis, root cause investigation, and resolution of complex master data quality issues impacting multiple systems, functions, and business units.
- Monitor data quality metrics, performance indicators, and compliance requirements; identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; and drive corrective and preventive actions in partnership with business and IT stakeholders.
- Direct large-scale data remediation, cleansing, conversion, reconciliation, and mass update activities to ensure data integrity, consistency, and operational continuity across enterprise platforms.
- Provide governance reporting, audit support, compliance documentation, and data quality metrics to support regulatory, internal control, and business requirements.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, integration, and application teams to design, validate, optimize, and govern master data structures, interfaces, integration scenarios, and data management solutions.
- Provide functional leadership and advanced support for MDM applications, including configuration recommendations, enhancement prioritization, security controls, and process optimization.
- Lead master data readiness assessments and governance activities supporting system implementations, upgrades, acquisitions, digital transformation initiatives, automation efforts, and organizational change programs.
- Validate and approve master data requirements supporting integrations, business process improvements, technology enhancements, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for critical cross-functional and cross-system master data issues, ensuring timely resolution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with business data stewards, functional leaders, IT teams, analytics organizations, and global stakeholders to promote governance adoption, data accountability, and enterprise-wide alignment.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to data stewards and business users on MDM tools, governance processes, and master data management best practices.
- Partner with analytics, reporting, and business intelligence teams to ensure trusted, consistent, and governed master data supports enterprise reporting and decision-making.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance master data quality, governance maturity, operational effectiveness, controls, documentation, and business outcomes.
- Support and influence enterprise data migration, modernization, transformation, and global rollout initiatives to ensure alignment with long-term data management and governance strategies.
- Participate in governance councils, cross-functional working groups, and strategic initiatives as a recognized master data management subject matter expert.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by manager

- Advanced knowledge of master data management principles, data governance frameworks, data stewardship practices, data lifecycle management, and system-of-record methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex data quality initiatives, root cause analysis, remediation efforts, and governance improvement projects across multiple systems, business functions, and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, system integration methodologies, cross-platform data dependencies, and related business processes.
- Hands-on experience supporting and governing ERP, CRM, MDM, and analytical platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Snowflake, and enterprise data warehouse environments).
- Proven ability to independently analyze, prioritize, and resolve complex business and data issues while exercising sound judgment and managing competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate discussions, build consensus, and drive alignment across business and technical teams without direct authority.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating effectively within complex, global, and matrixed organizational environments.
