Job description

The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and technology-oriented professional to serve as its Certification Program Manager.


The NIAAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional association representing more than 17,000 middle school and high school athletic administrators throughout the United States and internationally. The Association is committed to advancing education-based athletics through leadership development, professional certification, and quality educational programming.


This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting the NIAAA's nationally recognized Certification Program while providing exceptional customer service to members, volunteer leaders, and Certification Committee members.


Primary Responsibilities

The Certification Program Manager will oversee the daily administration and continuous improvement of the NIAAA Certification Program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Certification Program Administration

  • Manage all administrative functions related to the NIAAA Certification Program.
  • Coordinate and oversee six certification levels for athletic administrators pursuing professional certification.
  • Review and process certification applications while verifying applicant qualifications and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate certification records and databases.
  • Coordinate communications with Certification Committee reviewers throughout the evaluation process.
  • Work as a liaison with the Certification Committee.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with certification applicants regarding application status, requirements, and next steps.
  • Coordinate online certification examinations and virtual project presentations.
  • Prepare certification certificates and recognition materials.
  • Monitor certification inventory and coordinate shipping of awards and recognition items.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and member service.
  • At times weekend work is required.


Technology & Workflow Management

  • Utilize digital workflow and project management platforms to manage certification processes and timelines.
  • Maintain electronic records and document management systems.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop reports and track certification metrics for leadership and committee review.


Professional Development & Events

  • Assist in orchestrating all facets of local meetings for the NIAAA as well as assist with state coordinator meeting planning.
  • Assist with planning and execution of the National Athletic Directors Conference.
  • Assist in planning, logistics and on-site execution of the National Athletic Directors Conference, working and coordinating all NADC registration. 
  • Support certification-related educational initiatives and professional development programs.


Required Qualifications


Education

  • Associate degree required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


Technical Skills


Demonstrated proficiency with modern office technologies including:

  • Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms, Calendar)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Cloud-based file management systems (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, WeTransfer)


Experience with or the ability to quickly learn:

  • Project management software such as Monday.com, Microsoft Planner, or similar platforms
  • Membership or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases
  • Electronic workflow management systems
  • AI-powered workplace productivity tools
  • Event management software

Salary & Benefits


Starting Salary

$55,000 โ€“ $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
