Job description

As an Assembly Technician II, you will be using your assembly knowledge to build products containing electronics to a defined set of procedures/instructions. You'll be responsible to complete prescribed repetitive tasks in conjunction with a team that will culminate into a finished product on an assembly line.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble complex components and subassemblies according to detailed instructions and blueprints.
  • Perform quality inspections and tests on assembled products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate assembly tools and equipment.
  • Document and report production activities and any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior assembly technicians.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.

Must-haves:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years' experience as an assembly technician or in a related field.
  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing, production or warehouse environments.
  • Ability to comprehend/follow detailed instructions.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Certification in intermediate soldering or electronics assembly.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform assembly tasks, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Operate and maintain assembly tools and equipment, requiring hand/finger dexterity.
  • Stand for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.
  • Ability to travel may be required.
  • For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment
