DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal's prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

The Daytona International Speedway seeks motivated individuals to join the Facility Operations team in the positions of Maintenance_Event based in Daytona Beach, Florida.

This position is a seasonal / event based position to assist the team in the areas of Maintenance Mechanic, Painter, Irrigation and Track Maintenance. Basic office systems knowledge including but not limited to computer system and programs, cellular phone and 2-way radios.

This position will perform routine preventative maintenance and repair procedures on race track and related infrastructures. Operate equipment and use tools as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in executing DIS events - major races, track rentals, other events.

  • Assemble and disassemble track equipment such as track gates, barricades, portable bleachers, etc.

  • Use all types of power tools and large equipment including forklift, front end loader, backhoe, bucket truck.

  • Perform preventive building maintenance duties.

  • Clean, repair, lubricate and maintain equipment, tools and machinery used for construction jobs.

  • Use saws, hammer, nails and bolts for framing.

  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications using equipment, picks, or shovels

  • Perform light electrical, plumbing, drywall and carpentry repairs. Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.

  • Other duties as assigned
