Job description

Assistant Preschool Teacher

We are in need of an assistant preschool teacher for our small home based preschool serving children ages 3-5. Wildflowers Preschool opened 10 years ago in SE Portland (in the Creston neighborhood, also close to Woodstock) and we have 16 children per day with 2 lead teachers and one assistant. Our teaching philosophy is a mix of Reggio Emilia, Montessori and environmental education.
Our preschool is certified and therefore requires the following in an applicant: must be at least 18 years old, be willing to register with Oregon Criminal History Registry prior to starting, and be able to obtain Infant/Child CPR and first aid within the first 60 days and food handlers card within the first 30 days.
Some of the duties for this position include:
assisting children with routines (naps, bathroom, lunch),interactive play and
setting up/cleaning up from activities
This position is part time and is available starting in Sept to cover an afternoon shift from 12:30-4:30. Our ideal candidate would also have flexibility to work as a substitute. If hired, the person in this position will be expected to take 24 hours of continuing education each year. The trainings will be paid.
