Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
JOB PURPOSE: The Nail Technician is responsible for guest satisfaction in the spa by performing services to the best of their ability and maintaining Omni standards throughout all procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • As part of the MOKARA Spa team, spa providers are to consistently provide the highest possible standard of treatment, creating a sensory journey for guests helping them to rest, relax and regain a sense of balance and harmony in their lives.

  • Responsible for setting up the nail stations and pedicure thrones according to procedures and dispose of laundry in a timely basis.

  • Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and setting up the nail stations according to procedures.

  • Maintain sanitation of work area and equipment as required by state board guidelines.

  • Ensure all professional stock is being used in compliance with the PAR levels to assist with reduction in product waste.

  • To begin and end treatments at the published time and ensure correct procedures of all treatments are always being followed.

  • Strive to consistently produce a minimum of 10% in retail sales.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 1-year experience in nail therapy, preferably in an upscale salon or spa setting.

  • Current State of Florida Nail Technician License.

  • Must maintain a city business tax permit with the city of Fort Lauderdale upon hire.

  • Must be able to provide all phases of nail care i.e. spa manicures, spa pedicures, paraffin treatments, French upgrade on hands and toes, and specialize in natural nails and gel polish application.

  • Good verbal/written communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Commitment to exceeding the expectations of customers, always operating with a strong attention to detail to the client's needs.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, managing back-to-back appointments in a high volume 4 diamond environment.

  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.

  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including being on call for weekends, evenings, and holidays.

  • Ability to obtain a State of Florida Alcoholic Beverage Commission server permit.

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance.

  • Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.

  • Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
  • Desktop computer, selected spa program, printer, telephone, copier, fax machine and scanner. Cleaning supplies such as vacuum, mop, broom, duster and chemicals.
