The Editorial Intern responsibilities are focused on conceptualizing, pitching, researching, sourcing photography, writing, and editing a minimum of 3–4 articles per week focused on nail art, nail technician brands, beauty news, trends, and other industry insights. Along with completing assigned pieces, interns will also be expected to proactively pitch relevant story ideas specific to their beat in order to meet weekly publishing goals.


This is an in-person internship based in Madison, Wisconsin. Interns are expected to work collaboratively with the editorial and digital teams on-site throughout the semester.


This position’s responsibilities will be split approximately as follows:

  • 50% Writing
  • 10% Researching (including sourcing photography)
  • 10% Interviewing
  • 10% Content creation and coordination with the digital team
  • 5% Administrative support

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Enrollment in a higher education institution (preferred)
Cosmetology school graduate or professional certifications (preferred)
Experience writing for a newspaper, blog, or online publication (preferred)
