The position typically requires knowledge of archaeology, anthropology, museum studies, or related fields, along with experience in cultural resource management and tribal relations.

What are the main responsibilities of a NAGPRA coordinator on a daily basis?

This entails cataloging relevant items, facilitating consultations and communications with tribal representatives, and preparing detailed reports and legal documents for compliance. You will often collaborate with museum staff, archaeologists, and legal professionals to ensure proper procedures are followed. These tasks require a high level of attention to detail and cultural respect, making the coordinator's role essential to the ethical stewardship of collections.
