Job description

Westerman is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.
This position will be located in Casper, WY at our JW Williams facility (a company of Westerman, Inc.).
This position requires employees to be on-site and work in the shop. Successful candidates will be required to live in Casper or within a reasonable commuting distance. Westerman, Inc. does not offer a relocation package, and all relocation expenses will be the candidate's responsibility.
SUMMARY
We are seeking a certified NACE Level 2 Coatings Inspector to monitor coating applications, verify surface preparation, and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety regulations. The role involves utilizing specialized testing instruments, documentation, and reporting to ensure the longevity of protective coatings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Inspections: Conduct detailed inspection of surface preparation, coating applications, and environmental conditions (surface temperature, dew point).
โ€ข Testing: Perform tests using specialized equipment, such as dry film thickness (DFT) gauges, holiday detectors, and adhesion testers.
โ€ข Documentation: Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports, including photo documentation and non-conformity reports.
โ€ข Compliance: Ensure work meets industry standards (e.g., SSPC, ISO) and project-specific specifications.
โ€ข Communication: Act as a liaison between project managers, contractors, and clients to resolve quality issues.
โ€ข Safety: Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols in industrial or field environments.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
โ€ข Certification: AMPP (formerly NACE) Coatings Inspector Level 2.
โ€ข Experience: 2-4 years of relevant inspection experience, typically with prior Level 1 or assistant experience.
โ€ข Knowledge: Proficient in interpreting blueprints, technical specifications, and standards.
โ€ข Technical Skill: Proficient with inspection equipment (e.g., SSPC PA2, holiday detection).
โ€ข Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
โ€ข OSHA safety training and HazMat training preferred
โ€ข Related Associate or Bachelor degree preferred but not necessary
