ROLE OVERVIEW

As the Director of Vendor Compliance, and Technical Operations, you will be the primary architect of our external supply chain integrity. You will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of vendor performance-from rigorous quality control and regulatory compliance to fostering high-value, long-term partnerships. Your goal is to minimize risk, and maximize product quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee and enforce a comprehensive Vendor Code of Conduct. Ensure all partners meet global labor standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Quality Control (QC) Strategy: Establish standardized QC inspection protocols (including AQL levels). Lead an internal team or third-party agency to conduct factory audits and inline/final inspections.
  • Top Of Production (TOP): Oversee approval of TOP.  Ensure TOP samples move through delivery and approval phases with maximum efficiency and readiness for scale. Role potentially oversees operations of the sample and TOP library.
  • Relationship Management: Act as the lead liaison between the brand and global vendors. Manage internal relationships to bridge vendor performance and internal requirements across product availability and warehouse operations.  Move the needle from "transactional" to "strategic" partnerships to secure better lead times and priority capacity.
  • Performance Metrics (KPIs): Create and manage vendor scorecards to track on-time delivery, defect rates, and compliance adherence.
  • Conflict Resolution: Lead negotiations regarding chargebacks, quality failures, and delivery delays with a focus on fair but firm resolution.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: 10+ years in Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Quality Assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in similar/related apparel industry. Experience managing vendor compliance within a high-velocity, fast-fashion environment where speed-to-market is a primary KPI
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, raw material testing, technical fits and international shipping requirements.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with  children's apparel regulatory testing, Prop 65, or industry-specific certifications.
  • Communication: A "velvet glove" approach-strong enough to enforce strict standards, but diplomatic enough to maintain vital supplier relationships.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to turn audit data into actionable.
  • Negotiation: Expert Level; able to navigate complex costs and quality disputes.
  • Global Perspective: Experience working across different time zones, languages, and cultures
