Position Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Executive Producer to lead the creative and logistical execution of the new 2K League's live esports broadcasts. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire production lifecycle-from pre-production planning and talent management to live show execution and post-event evaluation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in live broadcasting, deep knowledge of the esports ecosystem, and the ability to manage fast-paced, high-stakes environments with precision and flair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage Broadcast Production:
    • Own the end-to-end production of live competitive gaming events, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, team coordination, and execution.
  • Creative Oversight:
    • Define the creative vision for broadcasts-formatting shows, storytelling strategy, visual identity, graphics packages, and editorial tone.
    • In partnership with league operations and the Senior Director of Gaming and Community, define creative themes for each season and cycle of the league, and develop programming for each season of the league, including creator storylines, digital content in partnership with creators and league talent, and the live broadcast
  • Management and Leadership:
    • Supervise a cross-functional team of vendors including producers, directors, on-air talent, technical crews, editors, and broadcast engineers.
    • Manage and oversee external vendor(s) responsible for the production of the live broadcasts, ensuring that creative and execution align with the brand ethos and standards
  • Talent and Content Development:
    • Work closely with casters, analysts, and influencers to develop show formats, segments, and commentary that elevate viewer engagement and brand consistency.
    • Partner with Head of Talent on NBA Player, Creator, and Celebrity cameos in league broadcasts
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Senior Director, Gaming and Community, League Operations, and the EVP Creative to ensure alignment on broadcast requirements and brand objectives, ensuring deliverables for NBA teams are fulfilled
  • Technical Readiness:
    • Ensure that all broadcast systems-audio, video, switching, streaming, and backup redundancies-are in place and functioning properly prior to go-live.
  • Live Show Execution:
    • Make real-time editorial and production decisions during live events to maintain broadcast quality and audience engagement.
  • Experiential:
    • Produce and oversee in person gaming competitions at NBA 2K League activations
  • Post-Production & Evaluation:
    • Partner with the YouTube and social team to identify moments and cut downs for cross platform social distribution
    • Oversee post-show wrap-ups, including VOD creation, highlight packages, data reporting, and retrospectives to drive continual improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in gaming and live production, with at least 3 years in a senior or executive producer role
  • Proven experience producing high-profile live esports broadcasts
  • Expertise in NBA2K
  • Deep understanding of competitive gaming and community culture
  • Experience in producing live gaming competitions in experiential activations
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with experience managing large production teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Expertise in live streaming platforms (Twitch, YouTube, Kick) and broadcast production tools (vMix, OBS, Ross, EVS, etc.)
  • Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and pivot as needed during live shows
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Candidates based in NYC preferred, open to candidates in Los Angeles

Salary Range:

$135,000-$165,000
