Job Description: We are seeking an experienced MySQL DBA Analyst with strong expertise in managing and supporting MySQL databases across on-premises and AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with database administration, performance tuning, high availability solutions, automation, monitoring, backup and recovery, and cloud-native database services.
Roles & Responsibilitiesa
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis databases in both on-premises and AWS environments.
- Design, implement, and manage database replication and high-availability solutions based on business and application requirements.
- Administer and optimize AWS database services including Amazon RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, EC2, and S3.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify bottlenecks to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
- Develop and maintain database monitoring and alerting solutions using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, PMM, Datadog, and MonYog.
- Perform database capacity planning, health checks, maintenance activities, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and improve application performance.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Work closely with DevSecOps and infrastructure teams to ensure database security, compliance, patching, and upgrades.
- Automate routine database administration and infrastructure tasks using Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, Shell Scripting, or Python.
- Generate ad hoc reports, provide operational insights, and support business stakeholders as needed.
- Participate in production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution activities.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Database Administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL database administration.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis administration.
- Expertise in MySQL Replication, High Availability, Backup & Recovery, and Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EC2, and S3.
- Strong database performance tuning and query optimization skills.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, PMM, or MonYog.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
- Proficiency in Shell Scripting and/or Python.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible and AWS CloudFormation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Cloud certification.
- Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience supporting large-scale production environments.
- Exposure to containerized platforms and cloud-native architectures.
