Job Description

IT Business System Analyst

Duration: 6 months+

Location: Spring Valley NY

Job Description:

Experience/Skills:

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for meeting with internal business/network operations customers to capture requirements for various projects and subsequently work with IT developers to implement these requirements.

The IT BA for Specials/Optical Technology Projects is focused on projects related to Specials and Optical circuit troubleshooting and fault detection.

Job responsibilities:

  • Coordinating meetings with business stakeholders, users and developers to determine detailed requirements and document these requirements in the form of a Systems Requirements Specification.
  • Sometimes Business Requirement Documents will be provided, but other times the BRDs will themselves need to be defined by the customers with input from the IT Business Analyst.
  • The IT BA is also responsible for working with IT managers, project managers and development leads to review, evaluate and design solutions; identify data source, construct data decomposition diagrams, provide data flow diagrams and document the process.
  • In some instances, will use SQL to access databases to pull and analyze data to gather metrics for executives and ensure the key performance indicators for the project are viable.
  • In addition, the IT BA will plan, arrange and control meetings, workshops and relations with client/user staff during system investigations and throughout subsequent development work; ensure that the systems meet the needs of the Business Unit through quality assurance and user acceptance testing; mentor less experienced Systems Analysts.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ plus years of telecommunications experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of DS1/DS3 circuits and Optical networks, including MUX, DCSs and specific Fujitsu/Cisco devices is a big plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook. Self-starter, works well with others, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
