Job description

About Mux
Mux is video for developers. Our mission is to democratize video by solving the hard problems developers face when building video: video encoding and streaming (Mux Video), video monitoring (Mux Data), and more. Video is a huge part of people's lives, and we want to help make it better.
We're committed to building a healthy team that welcomes diverse backgrounds and experiences. We want people who care about our mission, are ready to grow, believe in our values (from Be Human to Turn Customers Into Fans), and want to improve the people around them.
You'll join a tight-knit team with experience at places like Google, YouTube, Twitch, Reddit, Zencoder, Fastly, and more. Our founders previously started (and sold) Zencoder, an early leader in cloud video technology, and authored Video.js, the biggest HTML5 video player on the web. We organize Demuxed, the premier conference for video engineers in the world.
We're backed by top investors like Coatue, Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, and Y Combinator. You'll get to work with amazing companies: hundreds of startups, plus Strava, Patreon, Vimeo, Robinhood, PBS, and Equinox. Customers, large and small, love working with us and love our team.
We are building something big together. We'd love to hear from you!
About the Role
As PM for Video Intelligence, you'll own the product strategy for Mux's intelligence layer: the unified, queryable data surface that connects video content, metadata, and analytics-and makes all of it accessible to humans and AI systems alike. This team's scope spans QoE and engagement data (a trusted source for customers today), through newer territory: semantic search, vector infrastructure, LLM-accessible data interfaces, and MCP surfaces built for agentic workflows.
The team is actively expanding from its analytics roots into data enrichment and AI-native interfaces-and the person who takes this seat will shape what that expansion looks like, how it integrates with other Mux products, and what it means for Mux customers who are building AI-powered video applications.
What You'll Do
  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for new AI offerings focused on Video Intelligence
  • Create the choice architecture that lets founders and technical leaders make faster decisions: clear trade-offs written down, options evaluated, recommendations backed by reasoning
  • Run competitive research and customer discovery to understand how the market thinks about AI-powered video data products
  • Work closely with engineering to make our data infrastructure consumable by LLMs, rethinking data access patterns, schema design, and query interfaces
  • Define pricing, packaging, and go-to-market for new video intelligence capabilities as they move from research to product
  • Partner with product marketing to execute on positioning and launch plans that reflect how customers actually buy in this space

Who You Are
  • 5 to 10 years of product management experience, with meaningful time in AI, data infrastructure, or data platform products. Ideal candidates will have experience with API based products.
  • Experience taking a product to market: pricing it, positioning it, launching it. You've done this before and can point to it specifically
  • Strong written communication skills. You can make a complex technical product legible to a customer, a founder, or a board
  • Working knowledge of how data systems are built and consumed: databases, data access patterns, query layers, and what it takes to make data useful for downstream systems including LLMs
  • Based in San Francisco and available to work from our office

U.S. Benefits
We have a supportive culture that cares about both excellent work and work-life balance. We have office spaces in Downtown San Francisco, New York City, and London.
  • Flexible PTO + 11 company holidays
  • Weekly no-meeting days + quarterly focus weeks
  • Healthy work-life balance encouraged
  • Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Fully funded fertility benefits
  • HSA available, compatible with high deductible plan only ($100 per single employee/month & $200 per family/month employer contribution)
  • FSA available
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Group life insurance
  • Travel accident insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Medical support concierge service
  • 401(k)
  • Paid parental leave
  • Investment in career growth through professional development stipend
  • Reimbursements for headphones, cell phones, device upgrades, and SVoD services of Mux customers
  • Lunch reimbursement program
