Description

Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester Elementary Charter School is currently accepting applications for a Music Teacher (Grades K-6) for the 2025-2026 school year.

We are seeking dynamic, collaborative, flexible, and engaging educators. We offer a supportive environment for new teachers and encourage experienced educators to apply.

New York State Certification is required.


Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and New York State learning standardsย 
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Common Core and state standardsย 
  • Modify, redesign, and develop curriculum as needed to meet student needsย 
  • Collaborate with staff to align instructional goals, objectives, and methodsย 
  • Prepare students for relevant standardized assessmentsย 
  • Apply strong content knowledge and effective instructional practicesย 
  • Use data and analytics to inform instruction and improve student outcomesย 
  • Maintain a structured, positive, and effective classroom environmentย 
  • Foster a love of music, creativity, and self-expression in studentsย 
  • Embrace feedback, accountability, and continuous professional growthย

Qualifications

  • Experience directing student performances, concerts, or school-wide eventsย 
  • Familiarity with a variety of musical genres, cultures, and historical contextsย 
  • Ability to integrate music with other subject areas and enhance cross-curricular learningย 
  • Experience using music technology and digital tools to support instruction (e.g., recording apps, composition software)ย
