The Health Education Specialist is a qualified individual with certified teaching experience. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, curriculum development, research, participation in production activities such as filming, recording, writing and working collaboratively with the art team on design. Specialists will also be responsible for creating workflows, managing projects and at times attending training or sales events. The Health Education Specialist will report to the Director of Health and PE Curriculum.ย 


Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Writing, designing, and reviewing resources for the QuaverEdHealth website, including educational activities, lesson plans, units of study, assessments, and strategies for differentiation;
  • Maintaining and updating text databases and documents with Google Suite;
  • Collaborating with other writers, field experts, teachers, software developers, audio engineers, and graphic artists;ย 
  • Leading engaging training sessions, presentations, and/or lectures for educators and administrators 2-3 times per year;ย 
  • Editing, proofreading, and applying feedback to revise work;
  • Building digital mock ups for interactive screens and diagrams for PE games and activities with high attention to detail;ย 
  • Assisting in the correlation of resources to state standards; and
  • Assisting in the creation of documentation that aligns to state curriculum adoption cycles and Sales Cycles.

Requirements

  • Required: Experience teaching health education, health, and/or general classes in an elementary, middle school or high school setting;
  • Minimum Education Requirements: BA Education, working knowledge of National and/or state-specific Health standards and student expectations;
  • Certification or experience with a variety of educational strategies, methodologies, and theories related to health education, PE, Coordinated School Health programs, or Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child framework;ย 
  • Robust research skills and desire to 'be the expert' on children's health education and/or physical education trends and expectations;
  • Experience leading engaging training sessions, presentations, and/or lectures for educators and administrators;
  • Knowledge of curriculum-design models and educational strategies, practices, and theories related to general education, such as culturally responsive teaching and learning, universal design for learning, strategies for dual language learners, project-based learning, and Understanding by Design; and
  • Ability to utilize AI tools to create faster workflows and writing processes.

The role is not a remote work position. All employees must live within commuting distance of Music Row in Nashville. We are currently requiring all team members to work at minimum 3 days a week in the office on the QuaverEd campus and allowing 2 days remote. This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of the team member's Supervisor and company policies.
