Overview

Oak View Group is hiring a Data Engineer based in Denver, CO, or NY, NY. Reporting to the Manager, Data Engineering.  As we continue to grow and redefine the landscape of sports, live entertainment, and hospitality, Oak View Group is seeking a Data Engineering to join our dynamic team. This role will be crucial in supporting the design and maintenance of our data infrastructure with a strong focus on delivering data pipeline solutions. As we push the boundaries in sports, live entertainment, and hospitality, the Data Engineer will play a key role in managing and optimizing data processes within our Azure environment. This position will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a technical contributor, you will be responsible for enabling new data assets and maintaining critical data pipelines. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data management, eager to develop within a rapidly evolving business landscape, and committed to contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional global experiences. 

This role pays an annual salary of $100,000-$120,000 and is bonus eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines, databases, and ETL processes within Azure, supporting business intelligence, data science, and operational applications.
  • Automate data pipelines and workflows to streamline data ingestion, processing, and distribution tasks. 
  • Implement data governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy regulations. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand data requirements and contribute to technical solutions that align with organizational goals. 
  • Test and deploy data systems, ensuring high data quality and operational efficiency. 
  • Manage and integrate data from external partners and vendors, enhancing our data capabilities and supporting innovative projects. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. 
  • 3-4+ years of experience in data engineering, with a solid understanding of data structures, pipeline design and automation, and data transformation patterns. 
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database structures. 
  • Highly proficient with Python (preferred) or another general-purpose programming language for manipulating data. 
  • Experience with Spark/PySpark for large-scale data processing.
  • Strong foundation in Azure cloud services, with practical knowledge in building and managing data solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and other Azure Services.  
  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling or data warehouse design principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across multiple disciplines. 
  • Knowledge of financial concepts including journal entries, general ledger structure, and financial reporting (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and P&L).
  • Familiarity with enterprise financial systems such as Oracle EPM or NetSuite.
  • Experience building or supporting data pipelines that feed financial reporting or consolidation workflows.
  • Understanding of database architecture, design patterns, and best practices to ensure system performance and long-term maintainability.
