Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): 

This position works closely with the Marketing and Communications office at St. Olaf College to create original music and audio assets for institutional storytelling and media production. The student will collaborate with video producers and editors to develop music that reflects the artistic excellence and musical culture of St. Olaf.

Responsibilities include composing music for video projects, building and organizing a departmental music library, and creating sound branding elements such as sonic logos and audio identities. This role provides hands-on experience in music production, creative collaboration, and storytelling through sound.

  • Edit, mix, and prepare audio files for digital platforms)

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

Students applying for this position should demonstrate strong musical ability and interest in music production, composition, or audio engineering. Experience with digital audio workstations is preferred.

Candidates should be creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating within a team environment. Experience creating music for video, film, podcasts, games, or other media projects is beneficial. Applicants should be able to manage projects independently, meet deadlines, and apply feedback effectively.
