Music Director
 
SAR Academy, a warm, spiritually engaged and vibrant Modern Orthodox school seeks a passionate and skilled Music Director with experience integrating shira with Torah and balancing the richness of traditional nigunim with modern Israeli and Jewish music.
 
We are looking for a candidate who can:
  • Work with students from 1st through 5th grade, creating engaging, developmentally appropriate, and positive musical experiences
  • Demonstrate strong familiarity with nusach, minhagim, and a range of Jewish and general music
  • Teach and guide students in areas such as Ta'amei HaMikra, music fundamentals, and ensemble work
  • Serve as a dugma ishit, fostering a love of music and helping students connect with Hashem through tefila and song
  • Musically lead and elevate school-wide programs and special events, including Rosh Chodesh, Yom HaZikaron, Yom Ha'atzmaut, and other significant events
  • Engage meaningfully with children, families, and the broader kehilla, promoting a positive classroom and school culture
 
Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Dalcroze and Orff methodologies preferred
