Job description

The Modernism Museum Shoppe in Mount Dora, FL is seeking a Retail Sales/Inventory Assistant to support sales goals through efficient, professional, and accurate sales and inventory work. A strong focus on customer care and interest in product knowledge is required. We are located at 144 East 4th Avenue. This is a part-time job. The schedule is Monday and Tuesday, 9:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the first and third Saturday of each month, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Schedule flexibility is preferred.

Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent face-to-face sales with an effective contribution to the team sales target.
  • Greet and welcome all customers to the store in a pleasant manner.
  • Efficiently and accurately handle sale of goods.
  • Assisting the store manager as requested.
  • In-depth knowledge of the store's merchandise, its attributes, its exact location and its price.
  • Work to given guidelines to manage stock maintenance, re-stocking and display of merchandise.
  • Receive and process merchandise orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and promotion of the Modernism Museum exhibit. The current exhibit is the Memphis Design Group.
  • Strong communication skills with a keen, positive and friendly nature.
  • Ensuring the store is always clean and tidy.

Qualifications
  • History of sufficient retail experience with an ability to make an effective contribution to a proactive sales environment.
  • Numeracy and accuracy in cash handling, reconciliation, order processing and stocking.
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and use initiative as the role requires.
  • Commitment to developing a high standard of work.
  • Honesty and a high level of integrity.
  • Diplomacy and excellent communication skills.
  • Consistently provide attentive customer care and service with a confident, helpful approach.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of Square POS for Retail, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift/move 30 pounds or more occasionally.
Training and Development
  • In-house training will be provided.  Candidate should possess an excellent capacity to retain new instruction.
  • Continuous development of knowledge with current and incoming merchandise.
General
