Physical Therapist
Up to $50-53/hour | Columbus, GA | Full-Time Hours | 2026-2027 School Year | Physical Therapist position supporting students receiving related services, focused on improving, developing, and maintaining motor function within the educational setting in compliance with state and federal regulations.

About the Role
Hello, Physical Therapists! Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist for a school setting in Columbus, GA. In this role, you'll play a critical part in student success by evaluating and supporting students with physical therapy needs, contributing to IEP/504 planning, and delivering services that improve mobility and access in the school environment. You'll collaborate with educators and families, provide training and guidance, and ensure compliance through thorough documentation and coordinated care across school settings.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for related services under IDEA and prepare written reports of findings
  • Participate in meetings as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in the development of IEP or 504 plans for eligible students
  • Provide direct and indirect physical therapy in education settings
  • Collaborate with other personnel regarding physical therapy and the students' needs
  • Delegate activities to teachers, parents, and paraprofessionals
  • Train/instruct teachers, parents and paraprofessionals in delegated techniques and equipment use
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services
  • Maintain records of service provided
  • Lift, transfer, and position children and equipment as necessary
  • Supervise PTA as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Physical Therapy form an accredited program
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the State of Georgia
  • School-based experience preferred, not required
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
