Job Description

The Acute Care Lead Physical Therapist reports to the Rehab Manager or Rehab Director. Under general supervision, the Lead Physical Therapist develops, supervises and provides optimal patient care services as referred by physician for Physical Therapy, based on population-specific needs utilizing a developmental and patient/family directed approach. This role provides daily operational supervision to assigned staff, Physical Therapists, Volunteers, Therapy Technicians, and Physical Therapy Assistants. This position functions as a mentor and expert in specific clinical area and possesses advanced clinical skills. Provides clinical education experiences for physical therapy students as assigned. The Lead Therapist may work in both outpatient and inpatient services, all units throughout the hospital based on assigned caseload.

Position Type: This position is an acute care position

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Considerable knowledge of entry level evaluation and therapeutic interventions in physical therapy.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work in busy clinic environment.

Licenses/Certificates:

  • SC Physical Therapy license

  • Current BLS
