As Saab, Inc. is getting ready to begin our manufacturing operation in Grayling, MI we are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team! The Production Supervisor will be an integral link between manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, facilities, safety, and the quality team on-site in Grayling, MI.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and lead daily munitions assembly operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are achieved.
  • Communicate daily production objectives, priorities, and performance expectations to the production team.
  • Monitor production activities and provide regular updates on operational performance to management.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of advanced manufacturing processes while optimizing productivity and resource utilization.
  • Demonstrate and promote Saab's core values of Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support in all aspects of leadership.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members through training, feedback, and performance management.
  • Hold employees accountable for established work processes, procedures, and workplace expectations.
  • Empower teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and support overall business objectives.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new production team members.
  • Monitor work quality to ensure products consistently meet customer and company quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, quality standards, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention practices, and local work rules.
  • Champion the Saab 6S program by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with production leadership, cross-functional teams, and support departments to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Review, approve, and manage employee timekeeping and attendance records on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager.

Compensation Range: $80,900 - $101,100

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a munitions manufacturing environment strongly preferred; experience in advanced manufacturing is preferred.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience in a production environment.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree in advanced manufacturing, Aeronautics, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
    • Experience in using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and align teams to achieve organizational goals.
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, by example, motivate teams, and build positive, productive working relationships.
    • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime or alternate shifts, as needed to support production demands and customer commitments.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
