Job description

Position Summary:
Report directly to the Assistant Controller. Assist in matters relating to financial and operational reporting. Primarily responsible for supporting assigned account reconciliations, journal entries, and sales reporting schedules. Additionally, this position will be involved in the month end close process and assists with audit inquiries and requests.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare monthly journal entries
  2. Reconcile various asset and liability accounts monthly, as assigned
  3. Perform account analyses for assigned accounts to identify and correct discrepancies as appropriate
  4. Assist the accounting/finance department in streamlining current reporting processes
  5. Prepare ad hoc reports as requested by management
  6. Review and validate daily and weekly sales reports for senior management
  7. Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns
  8. Assist with store licenses and permits renewals

Job Requirements:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with an accounting concentration

Experience:
  • This position requires at least 1-2 years of accounting experience
  • Full-cycle accounting close experience a plus
  • Inventory related experience a plus

Knowledge:
  • Exposure to US GAAP principles plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
  • Multiview system experience a plus
  • Grocery retail, warehousing or distribution industry exposure preferred

Skills and Ability:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numerical aptitude
  • Analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting, cross-funtional teams, and management

Pay Rate: $26 to $30 per hour
