Job description

KWKT-TV FOX44, a Nexstar Media Inc. station, is looking for a passionate and driven Multimedia Journalist to join our Waco newsroom. This role is central to our mission of delivering fast, accurate, and engaging news across digital and broadcast platforms, with a strong focus on breaking news and community impact across Central Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pitch, research, and report local news stories for TV and digital
  • Conduct interviews and gather information from diverse sources
  • Write, shoot, voice, and edit news packages
  • Engage audiences through social media and web platforms
  • Collaborate with producers and news managers to shape coverage
  • Uphold journalistic standards and editorial integrity
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and station goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of reporting experience preferred
  • Strong on-air presence and storytelling skills
  • Proficiency in newsroom technology and editing software
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
