As part of the university, the Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center is a federally funded center that operates exemplary elementary and secondary education programs for deaf and hard of hearing students as well as national outreach programs which develop and disseminate innovative curricula, instructional techniques, and products nationwide, and provide information, training, and technical assistance to parents and professionals serving children from birth through age 21.

Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director, the Multimedia Coordinator supports the athletics communications function by creating high-quality visual and digital content that promotes Gallaudet University athletics, enhances the Bison brand, and supports recruiting, fan engagement, and institutional storytelling.
Job Description:
  • Leads the creation, filming, and editing of video content, including highlights, features, interviews, and promotional materials for athletics.
  • Captures and edits photography for athletic events, practices, and special initiatives to support storytelling and brand engagement.
  • Designs graphics and visual content for social media, recruiting, and marketing initiatives aligned with Gallaudet brand standards.
  • Produces digital content for social media and web platforms to increase engagement, visibility, and recruiting impact.
  • Provides multimedia support for home athletic events, including video board content and live content capture.
  • Collaborates with coaches and athletics staff to develop creative content that supports recruiting and program visibility.
  • Maintains and organizes digital asset libraries, including video, photography, and creative content archives.
  • Supervises and mentors student workers, interns, and graduate assistants involved in multimedia production (BisonCenter).
  • Assists with select athletics communications responsibilities, including content support for game coverage and website updates as needed.
  • Serves as the Game Administrator for home events and other Game Operation responsibilities as needed.
  • Manages inventory of Athletic Communication equipment (e.g., cameras, video equipment) and storage space.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive and supportive working relationship with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to belonging in the workplace and participates in activities and workshops to foster continuous learning.
  • Serves as a mandatory reporter under Title IX; and commits to completing Title IX training and other compliance requirements on an annual basis.
  • Prioritizes workplace safety as a collective responsibility for employee well-being and fosters a culture of safety integral to our success, including strict adherence to safety procedures and protocols and the prompt reporting of any safety hazards or incidents.
  • Performs related and other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience with photography, video production, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate in American Sign Language.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign).
