Summary
The Multimedia Specialist will work under the direction of the Associate Director of Production Services in order to proactively promote Saint Xavier University through the development of digital multimedia content for news, marketing and academic divisions utilizing all appropriate University media channels.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for the pre-production planning, development of script, recording and editing of multimedia projects.
  1. Collaborate with administrators, faculty, staff and students to create multimedia story-driven content.
  2. Supervise and direct student workers when necessary.
  3. Provide photography and digital imaging as assigned.
  4. Aid in the planning and implementation of digital media standards as they evolve.
  5. Investigate multimedia production trends and develop, apply and incorporate appropriate technology into Production Services.
  6. Research and make recommendations on the design, installation, maintenance and replacement of multimedia production equipment.
  7. Recommend updates and changes to procedures and policies concerning the functions of the department.
  8. Responsible for maintaining the department media archive. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in media production or related field.
  1. Minimum of two year's experience designing, organizing, producing and implementing multimedia-based projects.
  2. Must be comfortable working in a Mac OS or Windows environment.
  3. Proficient with all Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
  4. Experience in the setup and operation of various professional still cameras, camcorders, audio mixers and lighting.
  5. Ability to balance multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  6. Willingness to contribute creative and innovative ideas for projects.
  7. Ability to troubleshoot production and post-production issues.
  8. Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with many different constituencies within and outside the University.
  9. Must be able to maintain a friendly attitude during stressful conditions.
  10. Understanding and appreciation for Catholic higher education desired.
  11. Understanding of an appreciation for the Catholic identity and Mercy heritage of the University desired.
  12. Be willing to take advantage of professional learning opportunities that will increase her or his knowledge and skill base.
  13. General computer literacy: experienced in MAC and PC environments.
