Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for loading screw machines with brass and other metal rods, operating and adjusting precision equipment to produce high-quality components, and performing detailed inspections using calipers and gauges to ensure all parts meet exact specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Load screw machines with brass and other metal rods as raw material and ensure continuous, efficient operation.
  • Operate and troubleshoot a variety of precision CNC and screw machinery to produce high-quality components according to technical specifications.
  • Perform regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal functionality, minimize downtime, and maintain production standards.
  • Adjust machine settings, configurations, and tooling as needed to maintain accuracy, productivity, and quality.
  • Conduct inspections and tests using calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify the precision and quality of components.
  • Ensure all components meet technical specifications and quality assurance standards before release to the next stage of production.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Monitor machinery processes to ensure consistent productivity and maintain efficient workflows throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate closely with the machinist team and other production staff to meet daily and long-term production goals and targets.
  • Identify machining issues quickly and perform troubleshooting and adjustments to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues to supervisors for additional resources or intervention when necessary.
  • Demonstrate integrity, teamwork, and commitment to service excellence and growth in all aspects of the role.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, health and safety protocols, and production timelines while meeting customer requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of CNC machine operating experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a custom fabrication shop or machine shop environment.
  • Solid experience working with G and M codes for CNC programming and operation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with complex machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Experience with inspection and testing using gauges and calipers, with a focus on quality control.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of machining processes, including operation, setup, and routine maintenance of precision machinery.
  • Ability to perform inspections and tests to verify component quality and adherence to strict technical specifications and quality assurance standards.
  • Ability to quickly identify issues and troubleshoot machinery problems to minimize downtime and maintain production standards.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production needs and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
