Job description

Med First is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee clinic operational performance and growth, staffing effectiveness, patient satisfaction, compliance, and financial results across multiple clinic locations. This position is Full-Time.


Reporting to the CEO, this is a hands-on leadership role for a healthcare operations professional with multi-site clinic experience, strong financial and P&L knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced, changing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations for assigned primary care, occupational medicine, and urgent care clinics.
  • Support clinic visit volume goals, annual budgets, staffing metrics, quality goals, and Value-Based ACO performance objectives.
  • Monitor P&L performance, identify budget variances, and take timely corrective action.
  • Conduct on-site reviews and spot audits to evaluate clinic performance, customer service, compliance, safety, and policy adherence.
  • Develop and implement processes that improve clinic efficiency, consistency, patient satisfaction, and service delivery.
  • Assist with clinic acquisition planning, transition activities, and integration of new locations.
  • Use Athena EMR and reporting tools to generate, analyze, and apply clinic performance data.
  • Partner with marketing leadership on digital marketing, local growth strategies, and patient volume initiatives.
  • Support clinic staffing, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Promote accountability, compliance, quality, safety, and patient-centered care across assigned locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in multi-site healthcare facilities or physician practice management. Primary care clinic experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, P&L performance, and operational metrics.
  • Experience with EMR systems; Athena experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership, relationship management, team-building, supervisory, and motivational skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and medical practice requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong accountability, urgency, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinicians, senior leaders, and clinic teams.


Schedule and Work Setting

This position operates across medical clinics, a home office, and the corporate office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Regular daily travel is required, and occasional overnight travel may be needed based on business needs.
