Multimedia Specialist

Job Summary

The Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations is looking for a full-time Multimedia Specialist to join our media team. The ideal candidate will develop material that effectively conveys the UAE’s points of view to the intended audiences in the UN system and in the wider UN community in New York and beyond, as well as communicating important developments and achievements at the UN to audiences in the UAE and the Middle East for both digital and print media.


Working collaboratively with the media team, you will help design collateral for our events and engagements, as well as material for our social media platforms. Through infographics, typographic, photo and video editing, you will tell our story across all mediums. You will need to be familiar with Adobe Creative Suite and the size formats for content for social media and other platforms. You will also need to be able to work within the established brand parameters.

The Mission works hand in hand with other Missions of fellow Member States of the UN, as well as the UN Agencies to promote and develop policies that aims to strengths and achieve a sustainable development, prosperity and peace. The Mission has been an integral part of the UN community since the founding of the UAE in 1971 and contributes to the important work of the UN across all levels.


Job Responsibilities

·      Lead the design and production of digital and print assets, including invitations, infographics, website, presentations, pamphlets, stationery, etc.

·      Take initiative and ownership of and continue to develop the visual assets for digital and print.

·      Work closely with media team and other researchers to develop collateral reflective of the messaging.

·      Manage design and production of all collateral, including maintaining relationships with relevant venders.

·      Assist in finding ways to strengthen social media presence and amplify messaging.


Basic Qualifications

·      BA Degree in graphic design or related Media field.

·      3 years of relevant experience with excellent design portfolio showcasing experience working across both print and digital, as well as displaying expertise in infographic design, web design, and photography.

·      Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier),

as well as comfort with learning how to use new or other software.

·      Experience with Audio/video (camera) equipment operating.

·      Experience operating teleprompter.

·      Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

·      Able to think creatively and take initiative on projects.

·      Up-to-date government issued documentation, including a US passport.


Preferred Qualifications

·      Videography (production – post-production)

·      web standards, capabilities and best practices (HTML, CSS).

·      Experience working in government.

·      Experience designing motion graphics.

·      Knowledge of Arabic text and complexities.
