Entrepreneurial Front End Developer. Inspire a Generation to Care with our Startup

iFLIP4

East Hanover, NJ

$110K - $128K/yr

Part-time

Job description

Company Description

iFLIP4 is the brand and network for people to care. We're creating the one home for everything related to nonprofits, doing good, and changing the world -- targeted at millennials who overwhelmingly want to do good but don't know how. They can come to the site and learn about causes with articles, videos and games; they can find a nonprofit they love; and they can support it all in one place. The first way they can do that is that for every iFLIP4 product purchased, iFLIP4 donates half of the profits to the charity of their choice.

Pre-launch, we have been featured in the New York Post, and we are also the recipients of the Brown University C.V. Starr Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship.

We have iFLIP4 Ambassadors (campus representatives) on 50+ college and high school campuses in the US, UK, and Canada, and iFLIP4.com has been visited in 140+ countries.

Some of our advisors include a former treasurer of IBM, a media expert who helped launch MTV, a Fulbright winning law professor, and a senior advertising executive in charge of $250 million of ad sales at Yahoo.

Job Description

We want to change the world. We're a team of fast-executing social entrepreneurs on a mission to build the future of social change. You want to change the world? This is your chance!

We're not looking for someone to do busy work or implement another Rails app. We are searching for an outstanding front end developer to build our business with! We want someone who sees iFLIP4 in its Beta stages, and who can envision a future where it is the place to go for EVERYONE who cares. We want someone who wants to create the future, not someone who will settle for an unfulfilling position at a giant corporation.

We don't want a code monkey; we don't want someone to say yes and implement every feature we ask for. What we want is a partner. Someone to bounce ideas off of, someone with a vision for the future of our company, and someone who has the desire and drive to make it a reality.

Importantly, the most driven, high performing interns will be given the opportunity to take on full time roles after we raise our Angel round of funding.

Responsibilities

  1. Code the full version of iFLIP4's website, which has been expertly designed by a Web Designer with a Masters in HCI from Carnegie Mellon

  2. Maintain and update the current Beta website on a regular basis

  3. Design and implement reusable cross-platform features

  4. Create responsive webpages

  5. Brainstorm new design ideas and upcoming apps with other members of the technical, design, and Core teams

Technical Requirements

  1. Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/JQuery

  2. 1-2 years of web development experience, with impressive past projects

  3. LAMP stack experience

  4. MVC experience

  5. Knowledge of ExpressionEngine Framework

  6. Strong understanding of SEO

  7. Degree in Computer Science/Design

  8. Great English communication skills, both written and spoken

  9. Ability to visualize your ideas beautifully in Illustrator/Photoshop a plus

Additional Information

This position requires a commitment of about 20 hours/week. We are located in East Hanover, NJ, and telecommuting is fine with us.
