Education/Certification:

• Minimum two (2) years leadership at the campus or central office level experience
• Posses TTESS Certification

Experience:

• Three (3) years or more of successful teaching experience

Function: 

The Section 504/MTSS Coordinator is a specialized assignment that requires leadership and the ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, of the area of assignment. The Section 504/MTSS Coordinator will work closely with the Chief Instructional Support Officer and ensure that departmental programs are established and effectively carried out efficiently and effectively. The Coordinator shall serve as the program area lead and serve as a key resource person for the implementation of programs assigned to their specific area. The Coordinator works collaboratively with other Directors and Coordinators in the area of Curriculum and Instruction; Special Education, Student Support Services; Counseling; and Mental Health, as well as other district and campus administrators and coordinators, and outside providers in supporting school and student success. The Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the development, implementation, and management of the summer school program. The Coordinator will collaborate with the school staff to coordinate summer programs, college readiness, with reporting all activity data into the online database. The Coordinator will also work collaboratively with other C&I leaders to ensure students who require accelerated instruction receive this service and track student performance.

Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with District personnel and campus staff, both in regular and special education, to implement a comprehensive Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS} at the district and school levels.
• Assist with the development and implementation of District policies and procedures related to the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support {MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework as a method of identifying students for strategic and intensive interventions.
• Create and implement systems for program administration, including referral methods, data collection and storage, and progress monitoring at every tier.
• Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and research-based interventions for academically and/or behaviorally at-risk students unresponsive to Tier 1 classroom instruction.
• Provide training, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and interventionists to facilitate implementation of MTSS and PBIS practices.
• Participate in collaborative department and site meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement.
• Monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level for both academic and behavior support systems.
• Coordinate the collection of accurate and applicable data relating to student learning and the effectiveness of intervention strategies.
• Coordinate and monitor the district's compliance with Section S04 and Title II of the ADA, as well as civil rights requirements regarding discrimination and harassment based on disability.
• Facilitate the implementation of the District's policies and procedures related to Section 504/ADA, and ensure that they are applied consistently across the district and at each school building.
• Coordinate revisions to District policies and procedures related to Section 504/ADA ? Monitor for compliance and provide training for Section 504. ? Understand Board policies related to the areas of responsibility and cooperatively develop guidelines as needed.
• Serve as a liaison and have active involvement with professionals at the District and site levels.
• Develop and implement training for school staff in compliant completion and distribution of Section 504 documentation.
• Need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions and compliance with legal guideline.
• Coordinate parent trainings for Section 504/MTSS and provide information on applicable resources.
• Understand state and district policies to ensure compliance to homebound requirements.
• Provide training to campus administrators and counselors on district protocols for homebound.
• Support campuses and parents by being a point of contact when questions or concerns regarding homebound arise.
• Understand federal, state and district policies on residential facilities to ensure compliance in programing.
• Supervise and evaluate the instructional and support staff of residential facilities.
• Ensure procedures and documentation meets federal, state and district compliance for residential facilities.
• Assist with development and implementation of a cohesive districtwide academic success plan to provide intervention, acceleration, and enrichment through summer programs.
• Develop and implement marketing and recruiting strategies along with appropriate communication goals and objectives for all centers.
• Coordinates all providers with respect to program goals and objectives. ? Ensure procedures and documentation meets federal, state and district compliance for residential facilities .
