Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and prior PCU experience.

Details
  • 28-bed progressive care unit with 20 telemetry and 8 step-down beds
  • Adult cardiac and med-surg patient mix including CAD, CHF, and NSTEMI cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5 with 3-4 admissions per day
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
  • 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
  • On-call requirement of 1 shift per pay period
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
Requirements
  • Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
  • BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • NIHSS and CPI-A certifications required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • 2+ years of progressive care unit experience required
  • Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred

  • Deliver competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting utilizing the nursing process
  • Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans
