International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a Medical Support Assistant (MSA) to provide front-line administrative and patient support within Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clinics.
As an MSA, you will often be the first person a Veteran interacts with when accessing care. Your work helps ensure appointments are scheduled correctly, records are accurate, and Veterans receive timely access to healthcare services. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy helping people, staying organized, and contributing to a mission-driven healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Welcome and assist Veterans, visitors, and staff with professionalism and respect.
โ€ข Schedule, cancel, and manage patient appointments according to VA guidelines.
โ€ข Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic information in the electronic health record.
โ€ข Provide clerical and administrative support to clinic staff and care teams.
โ€ข Route calls appropriately and assist patients with general questions and requests.
โ€ข Monitor clinic schedules, update no-show appointments, and manage waiting lists.
โ€ข Support daily clinic operations including opening/closing tasks and correspondence management.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with VA policies, HIPAA standards, and Joint Commission requirements.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Medical Admin exp. Needed
โ€ข Minimum of six months of customer service experience.
โ€ข Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
โ€ข Ability to type at least 50 words per minute.
โ€ข Basic understanding of healthcare delivery and medical terminology preferred.
Education
