Position: SQL Server Database Administrator
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 12+ months
Onsite Role
Required Skills:
The candidate needs to possess advanced technical skills with the following:
• SQL Server versions 2008 through 2022
• Idera Database Management Tools or equivalent
• SQL Server BI stack (SSRS, PowerBI, SSIS, SSAS)
• SQL Server Always Groups 2012 and newer
• SQL Server database features including TDE, TLS, Certificates, relational modeling, partitioning, gMSA, DTC and indexing
• Migrate and manage databases in MS Azure or equivalent
• Ability to configure and maintain backups utilizing on premise and cloud based tools
• Perform Database Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting utilizing on premise and cloud based tools
• Troubleshoot application and ETL database issues
• Proficient with Active Directory Integration, Kerberos, SPNs, and PowerShell
• Skilled in SQL and TSQL code reviews The candidate must also possess a high level of competence with the following soft skills:
• SDLC Change management including maintenance of multiple development, test, QA, and production environments.
• Responsible for deploying approved changes to production
• Work with development project teams to design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements
• Develop and implement Database security policies and procedures in line with applicable governance
• Ability to work and coordinate with teams of diverse domain disciplines. (e.g. finance, healthcare, security, network operations, system admins., developers)
• Develop in-house custom installation and configuration guides
• End to end processing and resolution of work requests and trouble tickets
• Provide consultation, training, and knowledge transfer to staff
• Draft/formulate documentation of policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
• Adhere to strict IT and Data Security Requirements e.g. HIPAA.
5 years or more experience installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and maintaining Idera Database Management Tools or equivalent
• 10 Years or more experience installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and maintaining SQL Server
• 10 years or more experience installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and maintaining SQL Server BI stack (SSRS, PowerBI, SSIS, SSAS)
• 10 years or more experience installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and maintaining Windows Server
• 5 years or more experience with SQL Server database features including Availability Groups, TDE, TLS, Certificates, relational modeling, partitioning, gMSA, DTC, indexing
• 10 years or more experience working as a SQL Server Enterprise DBA in medium to large scale environments.
