Professional development in teaching and involvement in the laboratory profession will be valued.

The Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Program at Michigan State University invites applications for two Fixed Term Faculty positions (non-tenure) at a rank commensurate with experience. The appointments will be academic year, nine-month positions. The initial appointment is for one year. Reappointment will be considered contingent on program needs, available funding, and satisfactory performance. The MSU fixed-term faculty system provides opportunities for advancement through the professorial ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor). Additionally, following seven semesters of exemplary performance, faculty members may be eligible to apply for Designation B status, which provides five-year, rolling appointments.

These individuals will be responsible for in-person and online instruction at the undergraduate and graduate level. The teaching load will be approximately 3 courses per semester. Specific teaching assignments will be based on the successful candidate's areas of expertise and the instructional needs of the BLD program.

Additional responsibilities may include a combination of service, outreach, and curriculum development, based on the individualโ€™s expertise and interest.
