As a member of our team, you will play an important role in our company's positive culture by helping us build and maintain an effective organization as the automotive and energy storage industry moves toward an electric future.
The Health & Safety Specialist focus on improving Health and Safety at the StarPlus Energy by using his/her experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong S&H culture. Functions as an expert resource to teams for consistent implementation of company H&S standards and programs. Evaluates workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulations. Performs jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigation. This job is responsible for identifying the clear root cause of safety issues, serving as a control tower to improve accident issues. Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable H&S regulations and standards. Assist the safety and health manager and oversee planning work within the department. This person must possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and technical skills within their field. Carrying out tasks the possible best way based on the job description and based on the superior's instructions. Creating reports keep due to date. Any other task what is given by the employee's superior and requires similar skills and competence. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Acquire and manage the ISO45001 certification process
  • Conduct weekly line walks to ensure H&S practices are being observed and to note any at-risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment or non-compliance with any H&S related policies/regulations
  • Manage annual safety trainings
  • Develop and deliver safety trainings to employees
  • Oversee one or more plant-wide safety and health programs
  • When an emergency issue occurs, report it and work together with relevant personnel to resolve the issue
  • Ensure timely communication of safety issues/concerns to department leadership
  • Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions
  • Conduct new equipment reviews, mechanical risk assessments and ergonomic risk assessments
  • Conduct new hire orientation, contractor safety and other S&H related training topics
  • Evaluates workplace compliance with regard to local, state and federal regulations
  • Performs jobsite auditing and conducts incident investigation
  • Conducts inspections and ensures compliance with applicable S&H regulations and standards
  • Keeping job descriptions up to date
  • Establish work-related regulations and standards and keep them up to date

  • Action / Results oriented: Problem solving, attitude, deliver projects on time with high quality
  • Strong knowledge of experience working with OSHA and state/local regulations and requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar position, with strong foundation in project management
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees within all areas of the
  • organization including hourly employees to Senior Leadership
  • Ability to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability

  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Preferred Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry/chemical engineering, Fire safety and relevant experience
  • Bilingual English / Korean
  • Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applications
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation
  • Critical thinking and an analytical mindset
  • Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goal
