Job Summary and Qualifications

The MRI Technologist completes both MRI and General Radiology examinations, ensuring a high level of quality and patient care. This role involves interviewing patients and reviewing charts to obtain a complete history, evaluating patients for contraindicators, and assisting the radiologist as needed. The technologist is also responsible for starting IVs, operating a variety of technical systems, and promoting teamwork within the department.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will complete MRI and General Radiology examinations while ensuring a high level of quality patient care.

  • You will interview patients and review charts to obtain a complete history and evaluate labs before contrast injections.

  • You will evaluate patients for contra indicators and assist the radiologist as needed.

  • You will scan patients with appropriate equipment and perform the correct ordered exam.

  • You will be capable of taking plain film x-rays and transporting patients to and from the department.

  • You will participate in the PI plan and promote teamwork within the department and hospital.

  • You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, and treatment of patients.

  • You will be capable of starting IVs and ensuring IV patience with the appropriate gauge for injection rate.

  • You will operate Meditech, Synapse, Tele-Radiology system, CD Burner, Power Injector, and GE workstation.

  • You will follow all facility-endorsed risk mitigation strategies for handling hazardous medications.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology

  • 1 years of post-graduate related experience

  • Current registration with ARRT with advanced certification in MRI

  • If not MRI registered, you will be required to obtain MRI certification within 12 months of hire, or will be released from the position

  • Current BLS Certification upon hire
