Samaritan is searching for an MRI Tech to join our team! This position is responsible for providing appropriate technological imaging service within the discipline parameters of magnetic resonance. The person in this position would be required to work unsupervised while maintaining timely and efficient service in an outpatient clinical setting. The individual in the position reports to the Diagnostic Imaging Director. This position works closely the Diagnostic Imaging team and other departments in order to provide complete patient care.

This is a per diem position working various hours/days a week.

EXTRA INCENTIVE:

In lieu of benefits, receive additional 15% differential.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES (not limited to):

  1. Works in conjunction with physician to provide MRI and MRA examinations to assure appropriate and effective care to elicit meaningful diagnostic information.
  2. Clinical and Technical:
    1. Know and understand Hospital, Departmental, and examination protocols.
    2. Working knowledge of equipment, how to "trouble shoot" equipment, and when repairs are necessary.
    3. Know how to do QA on films and on equipment.
    4. Know how to schedule examinations. Review daily scheduled exams for corrections/additions/cancellations.
    5. Make sure exams are completed to include Teleradiology of films.
    6. Reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures.
    7. Informing staff of new or changed policies and procedures.
    8. Maintaining staff and physician call schedules.
    9. Proficient in contrast injections.
    10. Infection control principles.
    11. Problem solving skills.
  3. Safety / patient screening as appropriate.
  4. Contrast dosage and administration as appropriate.
  5. System applications are utilized appropriately.
  6. MRI and MRA studies are performed appropriately.
  7. Responds to patient needs and maintains patient confidentiality.
  8. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  9. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
  10. Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures as well as labor agreements.
  11. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
  12. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
  13. Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (not limited to):

  1. Washington State Radiologic Technologists Certification.
  2. Registered – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R).
  3. Registered – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), and/or Computed Tomography (CT) preferred.
  4. Minimum of two (2) years of Radiology clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  5. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
  2. Lifting/pushing 50 lbs.
  3. Good reading eyesight.
  4. Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.
