Establishes, oversees, and coordinates imaging services patients and procedures for efficient operation of the imaging department. Responsibilities include interacting collaboratively with radiologists, imaging staff, and other sectional staff and supervisors. To facilitate the day-to-day functions of the imaging department, assuring smooth patient workflow in within the department, verifies order / prescription validity, and obtains current lab values when necessary. Assist the radiology, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine or ultrasound technologists with transporting patients. Prepares paperwork by asking patients screening questions prior to procedure(s) and ensures procedure order matches procedure to be completed. Prepares room and non-sterile trays as needed to assist technologist. Informs technologist of any question responses that could interfere with MRI magnet safety for the patient while assisting in the MRI suite. Ensures MRI safety procedures are followed at all times in all security zones. Demonstrates knowledge of the basic imaging terminology, basic knowledge of imaging procedures. This person should demonstrate exceptional customer service through phone etiquette, face-to-face interaction by speaking clearly, listening carefully and showing compassion. Provides clerical support, proficient use of the computer, copier and other office equipment. Performs other duties as assigned within scope of skill set.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Previous MRI/hospital experience preferred.

2. High School Diploma or Equivalent.

3. Knowledge of medical/ radiology terminology preferred.

4. BCLS upon hire and maintain current.
