Description

The Data Center MEP Tech assists in the assembly, installation, and movement of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical (MPE) modules and equipment used in data center construction. This position supports skilled trades by preparing materials, assembling prefabricated components, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and performing general labor tasks necessary to meet project schedules. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assembly of prefabricated MPE modules and equipment.
  • Load, unload, stage, and transport materials using hand tools and material handling equipment.
  • Read basic assembly drawings, work instructions, and material lists.
  • Assemble brackets, supports, pipe racks, cable trays, and equipment frames.
  • Assist electricians, plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical installers as directed.
  • Install hardware, anchors, fasteners, insulation, and other components.
  • Perform measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding, and fastening operations.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area (housekeeping).
  • Identify damaged materials or quality issues and report them to supervision.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer site requirements.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
  • Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to learn MPE assembly techniques and data center construction practices.
  • Strong attendance and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and fall protection when required.
