U-Haul is looking for an organized, friendly, and motivated part time call center representative who can work remotely! A Moving Help Specialist supports customers in a high-volume call center environment via phone, chat, and email, with a focus on either phone or chat. This position entails helping customers book, edit, reschedule, and/or cancel Moving Help services, as well as resolving customer concerns efficiently. To do well in this role, you need to be able to remain calm when customers are frustrated and have experience working with computers.
Customer Support Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.

  • Responding promptly to customer inquiries.

  • Communicating with customers through phone calls, chats, and emails.

  • Acknowledging and resolving customer complaints.

  • Processing, rebooking, and modifying orders.

  • Keeping records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints.

  • Communicating and coordinating with colleagues and supervisors as necessary.

  • Providing feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to remain calm when customers are stressed or upset, while expressing sympathy, empathy and compassion

  • Intermediate keyboarding and computer skills

  • Ability to navigate and use multiple computer programs at once

  • Active and attentive listening

  • Experience working with customer support

Compensation:
U-Haul offers part time Moving Help Specialists an hourly base pay of $15.00 when working remotely. Your base pay may increase as you learn and acquire additional job duties, and merit increases are given periodically based on performance. Note: Hourly base wage may be higher, depending on state or local minimum wage laws.

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Part Time: Must be available at least 30 hours per week (the total number of hours scheduled each week will be based on business needs)

  • Must be available to work at least one weekend day per week, either Saturday or Sunday (some shifts require both weekend days)

  • Shifts available Monday through Sunday between 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Arizona time)

  • Initial Education/Training hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM and Friday from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Arizona time) for two weeks beginning Monday 6/8.

  • Working holidays is required in order to provide support for our customers year-round. You may be scheduled to meet the Team and business needs.

  • Phone Shift 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Phone Shift 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday between 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Phone Shift 3: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Phone Shift 4: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Chat Shift 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday between 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

A note about how we schedule: Preferences to work that aligns with the business need may increase the opportunity to be scheduled more hours. However, if preferences to work do not align with the needs of the business, the result may be less hours scheduled.
Work From Home Requirements:
  • All work duties, including initial education, must be performed from your home address in a private, quiet workspace.

  • Child-care and/or dependent arrangements must be made as if you were working in-person in an office environment. This position does not allow flexibility to be on-call care for others during work hours, either.

  • A personal home computer that meets the technical requirements (listed below) is necessary for both the application process and for performing job duties.

Physical Demands:
The work involves light physical exertion, including sitting for long periods, focusing on a computer screen, and taking phone calls using a wired headset.
