Job description

Join Our Team
At RMS Companies, we believe leasing is more than filling apartments—it's about creating an exceptional first impression and helping people find a place they'll proudly call home.
We're seeking a motivated, customer-focused Residential Leasing Consultant to join our Stamford headquarters team. In this role, you'll virtually manage leasing across multiple communities, partnering with on-site, marketing, and property management teams from first inquiry through move-in.

If you enjoy building relationships, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love combining sales with operational excellence, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do:

Deliver an Outstanding Leasing Experience

  • Guide prospective residents through the leasing process from initial inquiry to signed lease, virtually (over the phone or via email)
  • Respond quickly to leads and maintain consistent communication throughout the customer journey.
  • Schedule and coordinate apartment tours with on-site teams.
  • Build relationships with prospects while helping them find the best home to meet their needs.
  • Drive strong lead-to-lease conversion through exceptional service and follow-up.

Manage the Customer Lifecycle

  • Prepare, review, and execute lease agreements.
  • Process rental applications, verify documentation, and coordinate approvals.
  • Manage deposits, balances due, concessions, renewals, move-in and move-out documentation and communications.
  • Ensure prospect, applicant, and resident records are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.

Optimize Performance

  • Monitor leasing activity, response times, and pipeline performance.
  • Maintain accurate CRM and property management records (Yardi experience preferred).
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and on-site property teams to ensure a smooth handoff from prospect to resident.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance the customer experience.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2–5 years of high-volume customer service or off-premise sales environment.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships, and convert prospects into customers through phone and digital communication
  • Strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using CRM systems; Yardi experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Why Join RMS Companies?

  • Competitive annual salary of $55,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Full-time position with scheduling flexibility based on business needs.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a growing real estate organization with an established presence.
  • Collaborative headquarters environment with exposure to leasing, marketing, property management, and operations teams.
  • Culture focused on hospitality, teamwork, innovation, and operational excellence.

If you're passionate about sales, customer experience, and helping people find their next home, we'd love to hear from you.
